A nice piece of advice, especially when an author should remember about the time limits and finish their job in time. It would be really great for an editor!

Your "skill or not skill" opening statement applies to so many areas of life - you just have to look at TV talent shows to know that. Thanks for the tips - I know personally that I don't tend to produce my best work under extreme pressure, so I try to stay ahead of schedule as much as possible. It's amazing how much easier (and more fun) it is to get the job done, and I think the results are far better in the end too!

Great post Kelly. One of my biggest blocks is starting with a blank page. It just stares & mocks me when I'm at a loss for an idea. The best thing I can do for inspiration is get 1 sentence down (at least in my mind) before starting to write. It really makes a huge difference to me.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
